In this video, I discuss some tips for creating better opponents. The opponent of your story shouldn't just be "bad"; he needs to possess the human qualities we all do. Creating an opponent who needs love just as much as the rest of us will make him more accessible to the reader. You need to spend time fleshing out the backstory of your main character -- but even more time doing so for your opponent.
